Service checklist for conveyor systems

Service your system yourself – and avoid expensive downtime

There are few things more frustrating than unexpected downtime. It’s not only expensive – it also throws planning out the window and puts pressure on both people and machines. Many of the problems we encounter could actually be avoided with simple checks. But in a busy day, it’s easy to skip the little checks – until something goes wrong.

That’s why we at ABC Industrigummi have created a service checklist that makes it easy for you and your people to keep the system running – without you necessarily having to call us every time.

Prevent breakdowns with regular routines

Our checklist is designed for maintenance managers and site managers who want to be able to service their conveyor systems themselves. It helps you spot faults and wear before they develop into real problems.

The checklist covers mechanics, belt flow, motors, gears, safety and visual inspection – and everything that typically causes breakdowns.

In other words: It’s not rocket science, but it is effective.

You don’t need to be an expert

The goal of the checklist is not to replace professionals – but to make it easier to act in time before a major repair is required.

And you don’t need advanced tools. If you have a flashlight, measuring instrument, mobile phone and a little common sense, you’re already well on your way.

What should you check – and why?

Here are some of the key points from the checklist:

  • Belt running and tensioning – misalignment causes unnecessary wear on both belts and rollers

  • Rollers and drums – must run smoothly and without noise

  • Gears and motors – listen for abnormal noises and feel for heat

  • Bearings – lubricate them in time and avoid overheating

  • Safety and emergency stop – no system is safe if the emergency stop does not work

  • Signs and screens – must be intact and visible

If you have belt scrapers or plow scrapers, it is also important that they are cleaned regularly – otherwise you risk accumulation and jammed items.

Use the checklist as a regular routine

We recommend that you inspect the facility. every 2,000 operating hours – or more often if it runs in harsh environments with a lot of dust, moisture or heavy load.

Make it part of your regular maintenance. It doesn’t take long, but the benefits are great: less downtime, longer life and safer operation.

A tool for you – not for us

We have created the checklist because we want to make a difference for you in your everyday life. Not to sell more services – but so that you can use us when it really matters.

We know that a lot can be done internally if you just know what to look for. And you can do that with our checklist in hand.

The checklist is ready for you as a PDF and can be printed, shared or used digitally. It works for both ABC Industrigummi plants and many other standard plants.
