CSR
Our Responsibility – ABC Industrigummi's CSR efforts
At ABC Industrigummi, we believe that responsibility and sustainability go hand in hand with a strong business. We are part of the industry, but we take active responsibility for our employees, local communities and the environment. Our CSR initiatives are a natural extension of our values and reflect our commitment to making a difference.
At ABC Industrigummi, we believe that a strong company is built on skilled and committed employees – regardless of age or background. We have created a workplace where there is room for everyone, and where we ensure a meaningful everyday life for our employees:
- Inclusive Employment (Flexi-jobs) – We are proud to employ two individuals in flexi-jobs, who enrich our team with their unique skills and contributions. We carefully tailor tasks and the work environment to accommodate their abilities and needs, ensuring they can thrive.
- Retirees – We have three retired specialists in our team. They bring experience, knowledge and stability to the company and ensure that we can continue to deliver high quality to our customers.
- Apprentices – Our two apprentices are a vital part of the company’s future. They challenge our existing workflows, learn from our skilled craftsmen, and ensure that we always have competent welders/blacksmiths and conveyor fitters for the future.
ABC Industrigummi is an active player in the local community we are a part of. We invest in the community and support both local sports clubs and charitable causes:
- We are proud sponsors of TMS Handball, local football clubs and motocross teams because we know that sport creates unity, health and strong values.
- We support Team Rynkeby as a bronze partner because we want to contribute to the fight against childhood cancer through our financial support.
We take responsibility for the environment and are actively working to reduce our carbon footprint. We have already implemented a number of concrete sustainable initiatives that are making a real difference:
- Solar cells on the roof cover 35% of our total power consumption, which has saved:
- 10.5 tons of coal
- 12,5 tons CO₂
- Equivalent to planting 18 trees
- We have reduced paper consumption in the office and replaced paper towels with hand fans that run exclusively on solar power.
- We have replaced the fuel truck with an electric truck, which reduces our emissions and noise levels in production.
- We have invested in an electric robotic lawnmower that effectively maintains our green areas without the use of fossil fuels.
- We sort waste as much as possible, including cardboard, iron and hazardous waste.
- We have installed LED in all production halls.
We believe that small choices in everyday life make a big difference in the long run.
CSR is not a one-time effort for us – it is an ongoing process. We are always looking for new ways to make our business more sustainable and responsible, and we will continue to develop our initiatives to make a positive difference for both people and the environment.

Our history
1991 - The start of ABC Industrigummi
ABC Industrigummi ApS was established by Ole Hansen and Tom Christensen, who after several years in the industry agreed to start up on their own. Ole and Tom bought the building just outside Ringsted, and it has served as the base for daily operations.
1994 - Tremendous success
A resounding success led to an expansion in 1994. The two directors saw great opportunities in their own production of conveyor belts, which would complement the then production of tailor-made rubber belts.
1997 - Another success
The conveyors were also a success. So successful that the property in Ortved became too small. ABC therefore added a work hall, where the forge was located. The old building became the tape department again, with administrative offices on the first floor.
2000 - 9th birthday
The company is turning 9 years old and a burning desire to provide customers with even better service results in Peter Petersen being hired as a draftsman. He will be responsible for tailoring and documenting ABC's products.
2003 - New opportunities
Carrier machines are purchased. The machines place carrier belts on conveyor belts by vulcanization. Different types of carriers can be designed.
2008 - New sole owner
Ole Hansen takes over the company as sole owner and Tom Christensen steps down from ownership, but remains an employee of the company.
2009 - New employee
After 9 successful years in the design department, Peter Petersen is taking early retirement, and Søren Olsen has been hired as Peter's successor. Søren has 14 years of experience in the industry and in his previous jobs has designed conveyors in all shapes and sizes.
2011 - 20 years
On April 1, ABC Industrigummi celebrates its 20th anniversary.
2014 - Better and bigger opportunities
ABC Industrigummi buys new premises where the former door factory JK Porte was located. The acquisition means that ABC Industrigummi will move its activities from Ortved to Kværkeby as of October 1, 2014. With the move, there will be much more and better facilities. We are now able to accommodate much larger tasks than before and have 2800m2 under roof.
2015 - Heat presses
Investment is being made in a new heat press and a machine for manufacturing special gaskets.
2016 - New co-owner
Martin Hansen, son of Ole Hansen, buys into the company and becomes a co-owner.
2017 - New cutting machine
Flexible cutting machine purchased. ABC Industrigummi can now manufacture special gaskets in all dimensions and materials.
2018 - Apprenticeship place
ABC Industrigummi receives approval to train blacksmith apprentices.
2019 - Professional Board
A professional board of directors will be introduced, with Keld Kruse appointed as chairman of the board.
2024 - Martin Hansen takes over full ownership
At the end of 2024, Ole Hansen's son, Martin Hansen, took over the entire ownership of ABC Industrigummi and thus became the sole owner of the company. However, Ole remains associated with the company and can still be found in the office and with our customers. Martin has great ambitions for ABC's future and is working hard to develop the company further.
2025 - ABC launches a webshop with spare parts and accessories
ABC identifies a gap and a need in the market that spurs a digitalization journey. A webshop with spare parts and accessories is launched.
